It has been highly recommended that all pregnant women are vaccinated against whooping cough when they are 28-38 weeks pregnant.
The vaccination is available at our surgery now.
If you would like to have this vaccination, please request an appointment when it is convenient for you. We are also able to give you your seasonal flu vaccination at the same time.
If you would like more information regarding this vaccination, you can either visit NHS: Whooping Cough or speak to a midwife, practice nurse or GP.
Social services are a department in your local council and their job is to ensure young people are safe, looked after and aren’t suffering from abuse and neglect.
They do this by providing services for children and families who need support.
Social services can be contacted on 01553 669300.
Once a child is registered with the practice you will receive notification for child immunisation.
NHS England will contact parents or guardians when a child is due their immunisations.
We recommend booking a child’s first immunisations, at 6 weeks old, as soon as you have registered the baby with the surgery.
Health Visitors are primarily involved in the care of pre-school children and they can be contacted on 01366 389247.
You will be introduced to these services by your doctor if necessary. They can be contacted on 01366 385219.
A dietician attends at the surgery; appointment is by referral by a member of the practice team.
A relief service for carers is run from the Downham Market Health Centre.

You will be notified by post of an appointment for breast screening.
You will receive first call on your 51st birthday and then every 3 years until the age of 70.
We now have two GPs, Dr Purbey and Dr Lockrane, whom specialise in coil fittings and contraceptive implants.
Dr Purbey and Dr Lockrane also do the removals.
