Which Doctor can I see?

We are a group practice. In general we prefer patients to see their usual Doctor. If your usual doctor is away or if his appointments are fully booked, and you are unable to wait, you will be offered an appointment with another doctor.

When can I make an appointment?

We offer a mix of pre-bookable and “on the day” appointments both morning and evening, in order to be as flexible as possible. Pre-bookable appointments can usually be made 4 weeks in advance. For morning surgery, on the day appointments can be made from 8:00 – 9:00am and for evening surgery it is best to contact the surgery before 2pm.

How can I make an appointment?

Appointments can be made in person at reception, or by telephone.

What if I want to speak to a doctor?

Your doctor takes daily calls for advice as follows:

• Dr Scott 1:30 – 2:00
• Dr Gent 3:00 – 3:30
• Dr Holmes 2:00 – 2:30
• Dr Wearmouth 2:30 – 3:00 (Wed 3:00 – 3:30)
• Dr Hohnsbein 11.30 - 12.00

We are trying to reduce the number of telephone calls into the practice at 3pm. If you wish to speak to a doctor on the telephone, please call at anytime during opening hours, and leave your name and contact number for the doctor to call you back-this will normally be during the doctor's next telephone calls session.

Home Visits

Where possible, requests for visits should be made before 10.30am. Our administration/reception team will ask for sufficient information to ascertain the urgency, and the will ask for a contact number so that the doctor can contact you if necessary. It is likley that a GP or Nurse will call you back to discuss the details.

We are happy to offer visits to the housebound and the seriously ill. We can obviously see more patients in the surgery in the time it takes to carry out a visit, so we ask for your cooperation to ensure that every effort is made to attend the surgery. We feel that if someone is fit enough to attend hospital casualty or outpatients they can attend our surgery.
